Hauts de France Tourisme
Length 14 mins. Recorded: 6/8/2020
Australians and Kiwis visit the Hauts-de-France region firstly in homage to the ANZAC soldiers who fought on the Western Front in WW1. The battles of Pozieres, Fromelles, Bullecourt and Villers-Bretonneux were all fought on this land. What they also discover are the myriad of cultural and historical delights such as the hortillonnages (floating gardens) in Amiens, the medieval town of Senlis, the royal town of Chantilly and of course Lille (the capital) with its quaint cobble stone streets and enduring Flemish influences.
